For ocean loving Californians, Monterey Bay is a special place so worth commemorating with a Monterey Bay Plank Map.  Stretching from Santa Cruz in the north to Monterey / Carmel by the Sea in the south, Monterey Bay has several marine protected areas as it's home to one of the richest marines environments with numerous marine mammals and kelp forests.  

Stumbled upon by the Spanish in the mid 1500s, Monterey Bay was given it's name in 1602 in honor of the Governor of New Spain which stretched from northern South America through Central America to Mexico and covered the southwest and California.  The bay also contains one of the world's largest underwater sea canyons stretching ~250 miles long.

Plank maps are made from .75" thick premium pine to ensure a clean and beautiful look, the dimensions are 11" W x 16" H and come "ready to hang" with a 1" long sawtooth bracket.
